Hirgigo Metal Works Factory has introduced new machineries so as to boost production both in quality and quantity, according to Mr. Gebrehiwet Solomon, head of Sembel Wood and Metal Works branch in the Northern Red Sea region. Asmara, 3 June 2011 – Hirgigo Metal Works Factory has introduced new machineries so as to boost production both in quality and quantity, according to Mr. Gebrehiwet Solomon, head of Sembel Wood and Metal Works branch in the Northern Red Sea region.
He stated that the factory has the capacity of producing 82 different types of tubes with diameter ranging from 12 to 57 millimeters.
Mr. Gebrehiwet further explained that the introduction of the new machineries are expected to tackle the previously existing shortage of big tubes, and that they would back up construction activities.
Likewise, the manager of Sembel Wood and Metal Works, Mr. Gebrezgiabiher Asmelash, pointed out that previously big tubes used to be imported at substantial hard currency. The newly installed machineries that could produce tubes with the diameter up to 160 millimeters would play major role in the national reconstruction endeavors, he added.
Mr. Gebrezgiabiher indicated that the Plant is striving to boost production for export, beyond meeting local demand.
