Colorful Independence Day celebrations fully attest to strong organizational capacity, Says Chairman

The Chairman of the National Holidays Coordinating Committee, Minister Semere Russom, said that the colorful celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Independence Day inside the country and abroad fully attest to the strong organizational capacity and spirit of integrated rebuff, as well as the existing solid bond between the people and the Government.

Asmara, 4 June 2011 – The Chairman of the National Holidays Coordinating Committee, Minister Semere Russom, said that the colorful celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Independence Day inside the country and abroad fully attest to the strong organizational capacity and spirit of integrated rebuff, as well as the existing solid bond between the people and the Government.

He explained that such celebrations highlighted the journey traversed and the promising prospects lying ahead. Mr. Semere further indicated that the celebrations conducted even in those remote areas with limited resources were equally colorful. In this respect, he lauded the active participation of the people in the celebrations.

Commending Eritrean nationals residing abroad who flocked to the Homeland to participate in the Independence Day celebrations, he pointed out that the impressive artistic performances staged in the course of the celebrations gave added color to the true image of Eritrea and Eritreanism.

Outlining the demanding-task undertaken to organize such a colorful event, Mr. Semere said that the youth and student-centered programs conveyed deep message.

As regards media coverage to the celebrations, the National Holidays Coordinating Committee Chairman noted that no area or event remained uncovered by the national media. In this respect, he expressed deep admiration to the stage of competence the Information Ministry reached and the dedication of its staff members.
