According to the inhabitants, prior to the construction of the health center, mothers travelled up to Keren or Nakfa to deliver.
Ms. Fatma Mohammed, who gave birth to twins at the center, said that she has been doing regular checkups that enabled her to have safe delivery and stated that the advice she got from health professionals there have made significant contribution in ensuring the health and wellbeing of both herself and the family members.
Mr. Semere Ogbay, a nurse at the center explained on his part that the services the center provides to mothers and their offsprings include that of pediatrics, counseling and vaccination and that as a result of the increasing awareness of the public, over 700 mothers came to deliver to the center in the past month alone.
He also indicated that over 140 toilets have been built and 7,800 mosquito nets distributed in the area.
