Barentu, June 7, 2011- Endeavors are being exerted to introduce a better system for administration of trade permits, according to the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Estifanos Habte.
In a meeting the minister conducted with the residents of Barentu, he pointed out the private sector’s leading role in the national economy in general and in the domain of trade in particular. Mr. Estifanos further noted the Government’s due role in the economy, besides issuing the requisite proclamations and regulations in the sector among others.
Further explaining that the Government has been taking the necessary measures towards making external trade play vital role through issuing, among other things, directives aimed at creating conducive grounds for production, Mr. Estifanos highlighted the tasks accomplished in enabling nationals across the nation obtain trade permits, encourage traders to take part in import-export ventures as part of the overall initiatives towards creating conducive grounds for a vibrant foreign trade.
The participants, on their part expressed their desire for establishments so as to oversee the implementation of directives and enforce the set standards.
