Minister calls for better utilization of fresh water fish

The Minister of Fisheries, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, called for better utilization of fresh water fish in 19 dams of the Central region.

Asmara, June 7, 2011- The Minister of Fisheries, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, called for better utilization of fresh water fish in 19 dams of the Central region.

In a seminar conducted with local representatives, the Minister outlined the significance of exploiting those resources and using them as food sources in rural areas.

Pointing out that over19 fish species are being nurtured in different dams in the Central region, Mr. Tewolde further indicated that commendable results have been achieved to date in this regard.

On his part, the Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet , on his part explained the importance of ongoing endeavors towards reinforcing food security initiatives.
