A total of 119 students graduated yesterday in degree and diploma from the College of Science and Marine Technology in different fields of study, including Biodiversity Marine Technology, Sea Farming, Marine Engineering, Marine Science and Fishing.
Massawa, 11 June 2011 – A total of 119 students graduated yesterday in degree and diploma from the College of Science and Marine Technology in different fields of study, including Biodiversity Marine Technology, Sea Farming, Marine Engineering, Marine Science and Fishing.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony in which government officials, Army commanders, religious leaders, invited guests and parents took part, the Minister of Fisheries, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, congratulated the graduates and called on them to make due contribution in efforts to achieve food security through effectively harnessing marine resources. He further expressed appreciation to all parties that demonstrated support for the success of the College’s programs.
Also on his part, the director of the school, Dr. Zekaria Abdelkarim, , stressed the significance of sustainable development and marine resource management in achieving food security and developing the nation’s marine potentials, as well as related sectors.
A representative of the graduates on his part asserted that they would work diligently in preserving marine resource and enhancing efforts to achieve food security.
