A newly constructed community hospital in Mai-Aini that would provide health service to the inhabitants of 12 administrative areas was inaugurated yesterday. The community hospital involves delivery rooms, 37 inpatient and treatment rooms and a fully-equipped laboratory, as well as solar energy-generated power supply and other facilities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the regional Administrator, Mr. Mustafa Nurhusein, called on the local inhabitants to make good use of the newly available hospital at substantial expenditure.
Also on a speech he delivered on behalf of the Health Ministry, Dr. Mismai Gebrehiwet, noted the importance of mapping out correct policy, strategic plan and practical work program on top of putting in place health infrastructure, medical equipments and health professionals.
The inhabitants of locality said that the construction of the community hospital fully attest to Government’s care to the people.
Reports indicated that there exist 2 community hospitals, a health station and 4 health centers in Mai-Aini sub-zone which are rendering better service to the public. The head of Health Ministry’s branch in the region, Dr. Tesfalem Gebrekidan, pointed out that the new community hospital is equipped with the necessary medical equipments and health professionals.
Meanwhile, bicycle was extended to each volunteers of community health program numbering to 50 who made effective contribution in combating diseases.
