Ara’ata sub-zone: Basic social service being provided

The inhabitants of the administrative areas in Ara’ata sub-zone have got access to basic social service-rendering facilities, according to the Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Omar Yahya.

Ara’ata, 14 June 2011 – The inhabitants of the administrative areas in Ara’ata sub-zone have got access to basic social service-rendering facilities, according to the Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Omar Yahya.

Stating that the local inhabitants lead a pastoral way of life, as well as fishing, small-scale business ventures and farming activities, Mr. Omar indicated that over 14 elementary schools in all administrative areas and junior schools, as well as boarding school are providing service.

As regards health facilities, he said that three health stations and community hospital are rendering service, and that mother and child mortality rate has significantly dropped in the sub-zone. Moreover, the Administrator pointed out that the water stations put in place are rendering commendable service to the local inhabitants. Mr. Omar further explained that electricity supply, telephone and transport services have been expanded.

Ara’ata is one of the sub-zones in the Southern Red Sea region located 330Km. north of Assab town.
