In line with the responsibility taken by Eritrean citizens at home and abroad to support families of martyrs, a total of 4.5 million Nakfa has been secured which was subsequently paid to 302 concerned martyrs’ families, according to Mr. Yosef Tesfai, director of Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in the Central region.
Asmara, 15 June 2011 – In line with the responsibility taken by Eritrean citizens at home and abroad to support families of martyrs, a total of 4.5 million Nakfa has been secured which was subsequently paid to 302 concerned martyrs’ families, according to Mr. Yosef Tesfai, director of Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in the Central region.
He pointed out that the extended money is on top of the regular government payment in benefit scheme.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Mihret Gile, who lost her only son in noble national cause, stated that every Eritrean family has paid dear ones for the achievement of independence and safeguarding sovereignty. She further commended the continued assistance being provided to martyrs’ families on the part of the people and the Government.
Similarly, father of martyr, Mr. Gebrehans Tekle, and a mother of martyr, Mrs. Amleset Mizelo, said that the genuine supports fully attests to the manifestation of the trust of martyrs.
Members of the general public highlighted the need for the land transport department to address the existing unnecessary delays and line ups as regards vehicle checkups.
