Micro-Dam Constructed In Kaluq Administrative Area

A new micro-dam has been constructed in Kaluq administrative area, Geleb sub-zone, which would serve for the inhabitants along with their cattle. Geleb, 15 June 2011 – A new micro-dam has been constructed in Kaluq administrative area, Geleb sub-zone, which would serve for the inhabitants along with their cattle.

Eng. Bihmot Ainialem from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that stressed the significance of the micro-dam in enriching underground water resource, in addition to providing potable water supply. He further stated that about 20 hectares are expected to be cultivated below the micro-dam.

The local inhabitants expressed satisfaction with newly constructed facility and said that scarcity of water during dry season would now be tackled.

The Administrator of the area, Mr. Jim’e Haj Mohammed, outlined the shortage of water supply that used to be encountered by the inhabitants and commended the initiative taken by the Anseba regional Administration in easing the problem.
