3.5 million Nakfa extended in assistance to martyrs’ families in Southern region

Over 3.5 million Nakfa has been contributed by Eritrean citizens inside the country and abroad which was subsequently paid to a total of 486 families of martyrs in the Southern region, according to Firay Berhane, head of social security in the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in the region.

Mendefera, 18 June 2011 – Over 3.5 million Nakfa has been contributed by Eritrean citizens inside the country and abroad which was subsequently paid to a total of 486 families of martyrs in the Southern region, according to Firay Berhane, head of social security in the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in the region.

He told ERINA that the support was extended to needy families of fallen heroes in 12 sub-zones of the region.  Mr. Firay called on every citizen to enhance the sacred initiatives of supporting families of martyrs.

The benefiting martyrs’ families expressed deep satisfaction with the continued assistance and care being provided the people and Government of Eritrea. They further voiced pride over the martyrdom of their beloved ones.
