Asmara, 18 June 2011- Different popular campaign focusing on forestation and digging activities was undertaken in the Central region in connection with Martyrs Day.
Members of the Bakery Owners Association in the region carried out the development activities in Martyrs Park here in the capital, during which they explained that such activities gives one moral satisfaction.
They further stated that the initiatives are in line with the sacred duty to honor the trust of martyrs who sacrificed their previous lives for achieving independence and safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Girmai Negasi, called on every citizen to renew commitment in honoring the trust of martyrs.
Meanwhile, the Bakery Owners Association has donated 28,000 Nakfa towards augmenting the Martyrs Trust Fund, according to reports.
In a related news, members of the NUEW branch in the Central region, employees of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare and staff members of the Central regional Administration, as well as members of the Defense Force carried out development campaign around Embaderho, Serejeka sub-zone, from June 16 to 17 in connection with Martyrs Day.
