Eritrean Nationals In Dubai And North Emirate Commemorate June 20

Eritrean citizens residing in Dubai and North Emirate commemorated Martyrs Day in patriotic spirit.

Asmara, 20 June 2011 – Eritrean citizens residing in Dubai and North Emirate commemorated Martyrs Day in patriotic spirit.

On the occasion, the nationals took the responsibility of assisting additional 51 families of fallen heroes on top of the existing 251 martyrs’ families that they are supporting. Besides, Sheik Omeredin Mohammed Hussein donated 500 Durham towards augmenting the Martyrs Trust Fund, while Keshi Niamin Tesfatsion contributed 600 Durham for the same cause.

The Eritrean Consul General in Dubai and North Emirate, Mr. Yohannes Teklemichael, pointed out that in line with the commitment to honor the trust of martyrs, the people and Government of Eritrea are taking concerted action towards building a prosperous and strong nation where social justice prevails. To this end, he called on Eritrean citizens in the Diaspora to enhance contribution to the national cause.

Sheik Omeredin Mohammed Hussein and Keshi Niamin Tesfatsion said on their part that every Eritrean national is duty-bound to honor the trust of martyrs, and highlighted the need for enhancing support to families of martyrs.
