Eritrean nationals in the US city of Chicago voiced determination to enhance assistance to families of fallen heroes. Asmara, 24 June 2011 – Eritrean nationals in the US city of Chicago voiced determination to enhance assistance to families of fallen heroes.
During the commemorative event of Martyrs Day, the nationals pledged to assume responsibility of assisting 82 families of fallen heroes on top of the existing 50 families of martyr they have been supporting since 2004. They explained that extending a helping hand to families of martyrs is not the responsibility of the Government alone but also the general public.
Similarly, Eritrean citizens residing in Swaziland commemorated Martyrs Day through conducting candle vigil and voiced commitment to honor the trust of martyrs through standing alongside the people and the Government.
