The farmers said that they are boosting fruits and vegetables production through modern irrigation system and avoiding sole dependence on rainfall.
Reports indicated that they are now in a position to harvest three times a year and are playing major role in stabilizing the local market. There are 400 farmers engaged in vegetable farming on about 350 hectares in Geleb sub-zone, according to Mr. Jabir Ibrahim, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.
