Student Week in Gash-Barka region concludes

Student Week in Gash-Barka region that was conducted in Barentu town in a manner that reflects their capacity in art, culture and sport has concluded.
Barentu, 30, June 2011 – Student Week in Gash-Barka region that was conducted in Barentu town in a manner that reflects their capacity in art, culture and sport has concluded.

The three-day event comprised sports activities, artistic contest,   innovation and creativity competition, as well as debating between students and teachers. 

The head of the branch office of the Education Ministry in the region, Mr. Kelit Girmai, stated that strenuous efforts are being undertaken to nurture students in sports, culture, and artistic works, in addition to enhancing their creativity and innovation skills.

Likewise, the Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mussa Rab’a, said that endeavors to produce competent students are bearing fruitful outcome, and called on all government bodies and the society at large to actively participate to this end.

Moreover, the chairperson of the coordinating committee of Student Week in the region, Mr. Mehari Woldesilase, indicated that the event is aimed at selecting students to represent Gash-Barka at the national festival.

At the closing event, awards were hand to winners of the competition.
