Central regional Administration awards prizes to administrative areas and institutions

The Central regional Administration awarded prizes and certificates to administrative areas, institutions, schools and governmental bodies and individuals that displayed impressive work in the colorful celebration of the 20th anniversary of Independence Day. Asmara, 2 July 2011 – The Central regional Administration awarded prizes and certificates to administrative areas, institutions, schools and governmental bodies and individuals that displayed impressive work in the colorful celebration of the 20th anniversary of Independence Day.

The chairman of the holidays coordinating committee in the region, Mr. Andemariam Gebremedhin, indicated in a report he presented that a total of 13 administrative areas and 56 national institutions participated in carnival shows staged in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.

Accordingly, Geza-Banda administrative area stood first for demonstrating impressive performance, while Arbaete-Asmera, Gejeret stood 2nd and 3rd and received 30,000 Nakfa, 25,000 Nakfa and 20,000 Nakfa respectively.

Also from the 56 national institutions, Sembel Metal and Wood Works stood first, followed by ERI-TEL and Segen Construction Company. Meanwhile, Embasoira Hotel was awarded special prize.

Speaking on the occasion, the regional Administrator, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, highlighted the significance of carnival shows as they highlight political, economic and  cultural aspects of the nation, besides reflecting the cherished values and identity, as well as innovative skill.
