In line with the Education Ministry’s endeavors to upgrade the competence of teachers, a total of 1,292 teachers who pursued distance learning program in pedagogy graduated in diploma.
Asmara, 2 July 2011 – In line with the Education Ministry’s endeavors to upgrade the competence of teachers, a total of 1,292 teachers who pursued distance learning program in pedagogy graduated in diploma.
The graduates who followed the two year-long distance learning program via the Eritrean Institute of Technology have been teaching in different parts of the country.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony today, the Vice President of the Eritrean Institute of Technology, Dr. Gebreberhan Ogbazgi, noted the significance of distance learning program in tackling shortage of teachers, and such a program should be enhanced.
Likewise, the Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, stressed the paramount importance of upgrading the competence of teachers so as to register tangible achievements in academic education. In this respect, the Minister called on the graduates to work diligently in discharging their noble duty. He also handed certificates to those who demonstrated excellence in their academic pursuit.
A representative of the graduates said on her part that they would live up to the nation’s expectations.
