The Minister of Local Government, Mr. Woldemichael Gebremariam, the Minister of Marine Resources, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, and the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergis, visited nationals who displaced due to earthquake and volcanic eruption. They also observed the care being extended to the displaced citizens. Rahaita, 3 July 2011 – The Minister of Local Government, Mr. Woldemichael Gebremariam, the Minister of Marine Resources, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, and the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergis, visited nationals who displaced due to earthquake and volcanic eruption. They also observed the care being extended to the displaced citizens.
The officials, accompanied by the Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ali Mahmoud, visited the areas destroyed by the volcanic eruption. They asserted that the necessary assistance would be extended to the nationals so as to help them lead a stable lifestyle.
Reports indicated that melting of rocks resulting from the eruption that occurred on the 12th and 14th of June after 150 years is still continuing, and that the displaced nationals have already been relocated to safe place.
Meanwhile, Minister Woldemichael conducted a tour in Rahaita administrative area, during which he observed the implementation of development programs in the area. Also on the occasion, the Sultan of Rahaita outlined the achievements registered in expanding social services in the area over the past 20 years.
