Active Community Participation Vital In Properly Nurturing Orphan Children: Report

The head of child rights in the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare, Mr. Yemane Negash, called on the society to enhance participation in efforts to properly nurture orphan children under home-group care.
Asmara, 4 July 2011 – The head of child rights in the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare, Mr. Yemane Negash, called on the society to enhance participation in efforts to properly nurture orphan children under home-group care.

He explained that effective tasks have been accomplished in reuniting the orphan children with their close relatives so that they may grow with the necessary physical and psychological maturity.

Mr. Yemane further indicated that 100,000 Nakfa is disbursed annually for every home-group so as to properly nurture them in accordance with societal values. To this end, he noted the need for undertaking intensive campaign aimed at enhancing active community participation in the program.
