The displaced nationals due to volcanic eruption would be rehabilitated in places of their choice, stated the Administrator of Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ali Mahommed.
Assab, 6 July 2011 – The displaced nationals due to volcanic eruption would be rehabilitated in places of their choice, stated the Administrator of Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ali Mahommed.
He told ERINA that the nationals were engaged in pastoral activities in semi-highland localities, but, the place is currently covered with melting rock. Hence they would be rehabilitated in sites where they can obtain access to social service.
Reports indicated that a number of displaced nationals have opted to settle in the administrative areas of Alale and Wadie , South Denkalia sub-zone , as well as the Afambo administrative area in Central Denkalia.
Mr. Ali noted the significance of the measures taken in regrouping the citizens, and thus enable them to get easy access to education, health, potable water supply and related social services. Moreover, he commended the support being extended by the general public, zonal administrators and government agencies.
