Massawa, 8 July 2011 – At an assessment meeting conducted in the port city of Massawa, it was disclosed that the programs implemented for improving the living standard of the inhabitants of the Northern Red Sea region have borne fruitful outcome.
The programs include construction of agriculture infrastructure, promoting fruits and vegetables farming, and conservation of wildlife, as well as forestation. Moreover, commendable tasks have been accomplished in expanding potable water supply, health and education, in addition to developing marine resources. The local inhabitants took active participation in the implementation of the development programs, according to reports. Speaking at the meeting, the regional Administration, Ms. Tsigerda Woldegergis, called for exerting still more endeavors so as to raise production in the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
