Farmers in Berik sub-zone assist families of fallen heroes in farming activities

The farming communities of 21 villages in Berik sub-zone, Central region, are assisting over 1,200 martyrs’ families in farming activities.

Berik, 12 July 2011 – The farming communities of 21 villages in Berik sub-zone, Central region, are assisting over 1,200 martyrs’ families in farming activities. Accordingly, farm plots of 47 families of fallen heroes in Adi-Gebru and 26 in Wekiduba have been ploughed by members of the community.

The Administrator of Adi-Gebru administrative area, Mr. Birhane Sium, explained that the inhabitants have launched community-based programs to support martyrs’ families in farming activities. The families of martyrs on their part expressed appreciation for the initiatives taken by fellow citizens.
