Efforts Underway To Finalize Construction Of Hospital In Senafe

The Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nur Husein, said that the Ministry, Administration of the Southern region and Segen Construction Company, as well as other development partners are exerting concerted efforts to fully equip the construction of a hospital in Senafe at a total cost of Nfa. 64 million.
Senafe, July 15 2011 -The Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nur Husein, said that the Ministry, Administration of the Southern region and Segen Construction Company, as well as other development partners are exerting concerted efforts to fully equip the construction of a hospital in Senafe at a total cost of Nfa. 64 million.

Noting that the project is going smoothly following a tour she conducted in the construction site, Ms. Amna pointed out that on top of the 32-million Nakfa expense made previously, an extra 20 million Nakfa has been allocated for surgery ward, pediatrics ward, as well as kitchen and laundry, while an additional 12.5 million Nakfa has been added for other hospital equipments.

NurHusein reminded the Ministry of Health to assign physicians for the hospital which is expected to cater to about 100,000 inhabitants of the sub-zone. He added that the regional Administration would enhance efforts to finalize the remaining task of the hospital construction.

The Manager of Segen Construction Company, Mr. Tesfai Goitom on his part indicated that employees of the company are doing their level best to see to it that the project gets finalized in the near future.

There exist five hospitals, 50 health stations, 19 health centers and an optical hospital as well as three maternity facilities in the Southern region.
