The inhabitants of Asmat subzone are carrying out soil and water conservation activities, and thereby promote food security programs. Asmat, July 15 2011 – The inhabitants of Asmat subzone are carrying out soil and water conservation activities, and thereby promote food security programs.

The head of administration and finance in the subzone, Mr. Woldu Samuel, noted that over 4,000 persons are engaged in the campaign three times a week and that 150 km. long terraces and 200 cubic meters of embankments have been constructed through the undertaking.

One of the inhabitants of the subzone, Mrs. Fatna Ferej, said that labor was carried out only by the males who pointed out that joint in the soil and water conservation could substantially raise their harvest.
