The Asmara Music School graduated 19 students today in certificate and diploma at Cinema Asmara following extensive practical and theoretical training.
Asmara, July 17 2011 – The Asmara Music School graduated 19 students today in certificate and diploma at Cinema Asmara following extensive practical and theoretical training.
The training included learning the keyboard, guitar, recorder, saxophone, flute, trumpet, harmonica instruments and history of music among others.
Noting that the Asmara Music School thrives at producing competent professionals able to serve in the social and national affairs of the country, director of the Music School, Mr. Elias Weldegebriel, said during the graduation ceremony that graduates should understand the gravity of music and called on them to enhance their role in composing music that will represent both national and global conditions.
Head of Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Solomon Tsehaye, on his part said that the Government has been investing heavily to bring about the gradual transformation of learning music from tradition self acquired means to trainings by competent and experienced teachers which have brought about productive results.
He further noted the significance of music in any given society and that graduates should maintain and improve their acquired skills in order to transfer them to future generations.
