Inhabitants of Gergef carry out extensive reforestation activities

The inhabitants of Gergef, Golij sub-zone, are carrying out extensive reforestation activities. They told Erina that they are engaged in a campaign headed by agricultural experts in the sub-zone to prevent soil erosion and plant trees that could adapt to the climate of the area.

Golij, 23 July 2011 – The inhabitants of Gergef, Golij sub-zone, are carrying out extensive reforestation activities. They told Erina that they are engaged in a campaign headed by agricultural experts in the sub-zone to prevent soil erosion and plant trees that could adapt to the climate of the area.

Mr. Serke Yosuf, an agricultural expert in the sub-zone, commended the active participation of the local inhabitants, and indicated that about 60,000 tree seedlings have been made ready for plantation in the Gergef area only. 
Similarly, Mr. Jabir Saleh, one of the village elders, explained that over 500 workforce is taking part in the undertaking.
