1,138 students graduated from the Eritrean Institute of Technology today July 24, 2011 in Degree, Diploma and Certificate. Mai-Nefih, 25 July 2011 – 1,138 students graduated from the Eritrean Institute of Technology today July 24, 2011 in Degree, Diploma and Certificate.
The graduates studied 32 different fields in the streams of education, Engineering Technology and Science comprising 377 in degree, 638 in diploma and 75 in certificate.
Speaking during the event, the Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Rusom noted that all the graduates including those who graduated from different other colleges highlight the unremitting endeavors being exerted to nurture a knowledge centered society.
Mr. Semere also pointed out that the growing number of youth graduates and the knowledge they are empowered with testify the government of Eritrea’s strong stand on educating the youth on one hand as well as the youth’s vision and hope to pursue their national responsibilities on the other.
Congratulating the graduates and their families, Deputy President of the Academic Affairs in the Eritrean Institute of Technology, Dr. Gebreberhan Okbazgi on his part underlined the efforts being exerted in upgrading the human resource of the institute through which new departments, distance education programs and post graduate studies were opened in this academic year.
Representative of the graduates also said that graduation marks the end of one chapter and beginning of a whole new one which requires even greater effort to pursue and asserted their readiness to enforce their input in serving the government and public.
Present during the graduation ceremony were ministers, regional administrators, army commanders, invited guests and families of graduates.
