Micro-Dam Under Construction In Dembe-Habtetsion Administrative Area

A micro-dam is under construction in Dembe-Habtetsion administrative area, Elaberad sub-zone, at a cost of over 5 million Nakfa. Elaberad, 29 July 2011 – A micro-dam is under construction in Dembe-Habtetsion administrative area, Elaberad sub-zone, at a cost of over 5 million Nakfa. The project is aimed at providing reliable potable water supply to the inhabitants, as well as enriching underground water resource.  The micro-dam has a capacity of holding about 130,000 cubic meters of water and is expected to promote the cultivation of farmland blew it.

Reports indicated that more than 60 workforce is taking part in the construction process daily, and that half of the task has already been completed. The micro-dam would provide potable water supply to the villages of Dembe-Habtetsion, Bekushmnoq and Farkuta.
