Farmers Reminded To Enhance Efforts For Water Conservation

In a meeting with the inhabitants, administrator of the Teseney sub zone, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebrewold reminded the farmers to enhance efforts to utilize every drop of water in a rewarding manner.
Tsenay, July 31 2011 – In a meeting with the inhabitants, administrator of the Teseney sub zone, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebrewold reminded the farmers to enhance efforts to utilize every drop of water in a rewarding manner.

Noting that the Teseney sub zone is one of the agriculturally fertile lands in Eritrea, the administrator called on farmers of the sub zone at large and particularly the Teseney-Aligider farmers to make good use of the season’s rainfall.

Mr. Tekleberhan added that government and private tractors have already stared to plough the farmlands and that the farmers have been informed to use the select seeds tested by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The inhabitants on their part affirmed their readiness to double their harvest through hard work and called on concerned authorities to prepare medicine for the uncontrollably growing weeds in the area.
