Inhabitants Of Omhajer Show Tremendous Progress In Their Livelihood

Inhabitants of Omhajer sub zone have showed remarkable progress in their livelihoods thanks to the development and infrastructural programs made available, according to Mr. Shumondi Woldegergis, Administrator of Omhajer semi-urban center.    Omhajer, 2 August 2011- Inhabitants of Omhajer sub zone have showed remarkable progress in their livelihoods thanks to the development and infrastructural programs made available, according to Mr. Shumondi Woldegergis, Administrator of Omhajer semi-urban center.

He told ERINA that 4 schools, 2 health centers and 4 water distribution centers have been constructed in the sub zone thus playing commendable role in improving the inhabitants’ living standards.

The inhabitants of Omhajer have been actively engaged in the construction of the Bademit dam in collaboration with Bidho General Construction Company and that the project is expected to play due role in facilitating the livelihoods of the inhabitants once it’s finalized.

Noting that there is fertile and extensive land in the Omhajer area, Mr. Shumendi said the inhabitants of the area would be well benefited to fertilize their land from the Bademit dam without depending on the rain.

An inhabitant of Omhajar, Mrs. Letu Mebrhatu on her part said that the inhabitants of the area have been able to improve their standards of living thanks to provision of education and health services.
