Gel’alo-Tio-Idi Fishing Plant is exerting vigorous endeavors to boost the quality and quantity of its production, according to Eng. Woldemariam Tsegai, Assistant Manager of the Plant.
Gelalo, 6 August 2011 – Gel’alo-Tio-Idi Fishing Plant is exerting vigorous endeavors to boost the quality and quantity of its production, according to Eng. Woldemariam Tsegai, Assistant Manager of the Plant.

Eng. Woldemariam pointed out that efforts are being made to modernize the traditional method of fishing and that there are plans to export canned fish.

Noting that the main objective of the plant is to ensure satisfactory fish supply to the market, Eng. Woldemariam said it is actively engaged in motivating fishermen to attain the set goals. He also noted the significance of introducing modern equipments to boost production.

A member of the plant, Yonas Abraham on his part said that there exist fish of high demand in Eritrea and that job opportunities have been created as z result of the expansion of the Fishing Plant.

Fishermen commended the assistance extended to them and called for the supply of fishing equipments so as to raise production.

Moreover, Eng. Woldemariam said that new fish drier and refrigerator have been introduced that would stabilize the local market.
