Water project implemented in Dembe-Habtetsion-Ber’ona area

The inhabitants of Dembe-Habtetsion and Ber’ona, Elaberid sub-zone, said they have been able to improve their livelihoods through the implementation of a water project in their area. Elaberid, 6 August 2011 – The inhabitants of Dembe-Habtetsion and Ber’ona, Elaberid sub-zone, said they have been able to improve their livelihoods through the implementation of a water project in their area.

They pointed out previously they had to travel long distance in search of water but the problem is no more thanks to the construction of the new water project.

One of the inhabitants, Mr. Kidane Woldemariam said that the water problem in the respective area in the past has become history thanks to the government’s relentless endeavors.

The administrator of Dembe-Habtetsion administrative area, Mr. Teklemichael Okubazghy indicated that 3 water distribution centers and a water reservoir with a capacity of holding over 150 barrels of water have been made available in the area.  He further indicated that water pipelines have been inserted in Bero’na Administrative area, thus providing clean drinking water to the inhabitants.

Dembe-Habtetsion is one of the 13 Administrative areas of Elaberid sub-zone.
