Southern region: social service development narrows urban-rural gap

The effective  development achieved in the domain of social service in the Southern has narrowed the gap between rural and urban areas in the region, according to reports. Medefera, 8 August 2011-  The effective  development achieved in the domain of social service in the Southern has narrowed the gap between rural and urban areas in the region, according to reports.The Reports indicated that the significant expansion of transportation service at a total 732 villages has been connected at an investment of 549 million Nakfa.

The inhabitants of the region have thus been able to move from village to village, in addition to overcoming the problem of transportation that used to prevail for reaching health centers.
Meanwhile, the installation of electricity is gaining momentum, and that 50 thousand households have now obtained electricity supply and 37 thousand others telephone service.
