Micro-dam constructed in Gul’i at a cost of 7 million Nakfa

A micro-dam has been constructed in Gul’I, Gala- Nefih sub-zone, at an expenditure of more than 7 million Nakfa. Gala-Nefih, 9 August 2011 – A micro-dam has been constructed in Gul’I, Gala- Nefih sub-zone, at an expenditure of more than 7 million Nakfa.

The head of the branch office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Abraham Daniel, said that the micro-dam constructed by the Administration of Central region has the capacity of holding 250,000 cubic meters of water. He added that 25 hectares of farmland below the micro-dam could be put under cultivation through irrigation.

Moreover, efforts have made to expand a micro-dam in Lagin, Gala-Nefih sub-zone, at a cost of 3 million Nakfa, and that it is expected to make due contribution in expanding farmland below it.
