Anseba region: Vigorous efforts underway to prevent malaria incidence

Vigorous endeavors are underway in Anseba region to prevent malaria incidence by the Health Ministry in collaboration with partners, stated the head of malaria control unit in the region, Mr. Kiros Sereqe. He told Erina that the Ministry has registered significant achievement in such endeavors, but even then efforts are being made to achieve still more gratifying outcome.

Mr. Kiros indicated that 210 healthcare representatives of villages which are located 5Km. away from nine health institutions are being equipped with the necessary drug supply so as to render the required health service. In addition, over 133,000 mosquito nets have been distributed to the local inhabitants freely.

Moreover, he said that malaria incidence in the region has dropped considerably even  in the most malaria prone areas thanks to the continuous campaign undertaken by the Ministry of Health to enhance public awareness.
