Farmers of fruits and vegetables in Nacfa sub-zone are stepping up efforts to boost production, and thereby meet local demand. Nacfa, 16 August 2011 – Farmers of fruits and vegetables in Nacfa sub-zone are stepping up efforts to boost production, and thereby meet local demand.

The farmers said that they are engaged in cultivating fruits and vegetables in an organized manner so as to upgrade their living standard, and that the achievements scored so far encourage them to redouble their endeavors.

The head of the Agriculture Ministry’branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Jabra Mohammed, indicated that more than 80 hectares in Mo’o and Beniam rivers are being put under cultivation, and that the farmers have managed to send their products to the market in Afabet. He further stated that the Ministry provides seeds and select seeds to the farming communities, and called on them to strive for higher production of milk and related products.
