Statement by US representative to the UN sign of extreme frustration, Say Eritrean nationals

A number of Eritrean nationals pointed out that the statement made by the US representative to the UN on August 11 alleging that “although they are trying to cover up, there exists famine in Eritrea.”

Asmara, 16 August 2011 – A number of Eritrean nationals pointed out that the statement made by the US representative to the UN on August 11 alleging that “although they are trying to cover up, there exists famine in Eritrea.” The nationals  elaborated that the statement  she made attests to the ever growing frustration and anxiety on the part of the US Administration that emanate from Eritrea’s non-inclusion within the ranks of donor-recipient nations, coupled with the all-round enemy acts of conspiracy designed to impede Eritrea’s development drive.

They further asserted that thanks to their unremitting endeavors to achieve all-round development in line with the principle of self-reliance, the Eritrean people are leading stable life, despite the mounting drought and hunger in the Horn region.
