Heavy rainfall reported in Asmara and environs

Heavy rainfall was reported in Asmara and its environs yesterday evening. Although no human accident occurred due to the heavy rain showers, some streets of the capital were nonetheless covered with ice that gave rise to problems to vehicles.

Asmara, 19 August 2011 – Heavy rainfall was reported in Asmara and its environs yesterday evening. Although no human accident occurred due to the heavy rain showers, some streets of the capital were nonetheless covered with ice that gave rise to problems to vehicles.

It is to be recalled that heavy rainfall witnessed on August 13 caused similar transport problems.

According to reports from the Metrological Unit, satisfactory rainfall has been taking place since last month.
