Micro-dams in Shambuko sub-zone play vital role in development drive

The micro-dams constructed in Shambuko sub-zone are playing vital role in development endeavors through enriching surface and underground water resources, stated the local inhabitants. They told Erina that they are able to obtain reliable water supply as a result of the construction of micro-dams. They told Erina that they are able to obtain reliable water supply as a result of the construction of micro-dams.

The head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch  office in the sub-zone, Mr. Shewit Fishale, said that there exist 15 ponds and micro-dams in Shambuko which are making due contribution in achieving food security.
