Ghinda Regional Referral Hospital is playing a significant role in alleviating mother and infant mortality rates, head nurse of the hospital, Mr. Musa Nurhusein disclosed. Ghinda, 21 August 2011- Ghinda Regional Referral Hospital is playing a significant role in alleviating mother and infant mortality rates, head nurse of the hospital, Mr. Musa Nurhusein disclosed.
Noting that the mother and infant mortality rate has been declining over the past two years, Mr. Musa indicated that the hospital this year has introduced special care wards for premature infants.
Furthermore, reports said that the hospital has been working hard in lecturing before and after delivery care for mothers and vaccination for infants. Accordingly, the number of women who delivered with professional assistance grew from 88% in 2009 to 91% this year.
Inhabitants of the area on their part pointed out the importance of health services especially for mothers and children and expressed their happiness on the special attention they are receiving by the government.
