The department of economic development of the town of Afabet disclosed that the town is progressing at a promising pace owing to the infrastructure works and social services rendering institutions put in place. Afabet, 21 August 2011 -The department of economic development of the town of Afabet disclosed that the town is progressing at a promising pace owing to the infrastructure works and social services rendering institutions put in place.
Noting that the population of Afabet has grown from 12,000 to 23,000 at this time, head of the department, Mr. Abraham Kidane indicated that the Afabet-Nakfa road is undergoing intensive renovation work and is expected to solve the transportation network problems.
Mr. Abraham went on to say that the inhabitants have access to health services, potable water facility, schools, access to mobile telephone lines, as well as 24-hour electricity.
Furthermore, Mr. Abraham said that the housing complexes are being constructed in accordance with the master plan of the town, while problems in relation with immigration and legal services have been solved.
