Eid Al-Fetir Al-Mubarak was today celebrated across the nation in a colorful manner. In the celebrations conducted at the Bahti Meskerem Square here in the capital, the faithful conducted Salat Eid headed by the Eritrean Mufti, Sheik Al-Amin Osman Al-Amin.
Asmara, 31 August 2011 – Eid Al-Fetir Al-Mubarak was today celebrated across the nation in a colorful manner. In the celebrations conducted at the Bahti Meskerem Square here in the capital, the faithful conducted Salat Eid headed by the Eritrean Mufti, Sheik Al-Amin Osman Al-Amin.
In a spiritual message he conveyed on the occasion, the Mufti wished Happy Eid to the Eitrean people in general and followers of the Islamic Faith in particular, and underscored that the month of Ramadan is a time of prayer and self-restraints from misdeed. It is also an occasion in which all believers extend support to needy fellow citizens, especially families of fallen heroes, he added.
Sheik Al-Amin also expressed goodwill that the Eid Al-Fetir celebrations augur happiness, stability and development as well as prosperity.
The Secretary of Asmara Awkaf, Mr. Mohammed Berhan Ahmed, pointed out on his part that extending support to the needy on the occasion of Edi celebrations is a duty for the believers. He also noted that God has blessed us with bountiful rainfall as a result of the prayers of both Muslim and Christian citizens.
