Forestation and wildlife conservation unit calls for enhanced societal participation

The forestation and wildlife conservation unit of the Ministry of Agriculture has called for enhanced participation of the society in the task, according to the head of the unit, Lt. Colonel Gebergergis Sium.
Asmara, 31 August 2011- The forestation and wildlife conservation unit of the Ministry of Agriculture has called for enhanced participation of the society in the task, according to the head of the unit, Lt. Colonel Gebergergis Sium.

He said that nationals have the duty of reporting any deforestation activity and wildlife destruction activity. He also noted that thanks to the continuous campaigns made, the awareness of the society regarding the issue continues to gain momentum.

Lt. Colonel Gebergergis further explained that the thriving of wildlife  resources depends on the preservation of forests, and that with the prevailing peace and stability in the country, the number of wildlife has been increasing and called for enhanced role of the public at large to this end.
