The inhabitant of Keren town have been called upon to apply judicious utilization of water supply and conserve rain waters.
Keren, 1 September 2011 – The inhabitant of Keren town have been called upon to apply judicious utilization of water supply and conserve rain waters.

The head of the branch office of water supply in the town, Mr. Ande Adhanom, explained that the number of beneficiaries is showing 20%  yearly growth, and that new equipments at a cost of 1.4 million Nakfa have been made available so as tackle shortage of potable water supply.

He further stated that about 30 water trucks have been distributed to alleviate water supply problems during the winter season as the Anseba River serves as the source of water supply for the town.  

Mr. Ande also indicated that efforts are underway to enrich water resources and construct underground dams around Anseba River. The construction of an underground micro-dam in Halibmentel is making due contribution, he added.
