Anseba region: New Regulations issued on price reduction in building materials

The branch office of the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Anseba region, in collaboration with the Administration of Keren town has issued new regulations of prices of building materials , specifically sand and stone,  stated the head of the branch office, Mr. Habeteab Tsegai. He pointed out that previously the materials were sold to the vendors without any price limit, but as of now limits have been spelt out regarding the selling and buying of such building materials. Furthermore, permanent license would be provided to vendors of the said materials in Keren, Hagaz, Elaberid and Adi-Tekelezan sub-zones respectively, in addition to issuing temporary license in the remaining subzones.

Both Mr. Mohammed Adem Mohammed and Mr. Idris Hassen who have been engaged in as gold smith activities for the past 50 years said that previously they were compelled to travel to the nation’s capital for renewing their licenses. At present, however, they are in a position to renew their licenses in their respective areas area of habitat.

Likewise, Mr. Abdelkadir Suleiman stated that increase in the price of stone and sand has been creating pressure, but henceforth such a problem has been overcome.
Meanwhile, Mr. Habetab has called on the local inhabitants to put in practice the price regulation lately issued.
