Mai-Mine, 3 September 2011 – Traditional practices and laws of Eritrean society play vital role in facilitating administration of justice and health services, stated Mr. Abraham Hagos, Administrator of the sub-zone.
He said that the inhabitants of the sub-zone are able to resolve court cases through setting up reconciliation committees which has been part of their traditional practices for centuries.
Moreover, Mr. Abraham explained that the local inhabitants have been spared of unnecessary wastage of time as a result of the formation of various committees including those on land allotment, grazing and reserve land, among others. Educational, health, village bank and other institutions are also rendering service in each administrative area of the sub-zone, he added.
Meanwhile, the Administrator stressed the need for addressing transport and telephone services problems in Mai-Mine.
