Farmers in Shambuko sub-zone step up efforts to boost production

In a meeting held with the head of units of various ministries and village elders, the Administrator of Shumbuko sub-zone, Mr. Abubeker Mahmoud called on farmers in the sub-zone to step up efforts towards boosting production.
Shumbuko, 7 September 2011- In a meeting held with the head of units of various ministries and village elders, the Administrator of Shumbuko sub-zone, Mr. Abubeker Mahmoud called on farmers in the sub-zone to step up efforts towards boosting production.

He pointed out that out of the 14,200 hectares that were supposed to be cultivated, 12,520 hectares have been cultivated, and are in good condition, in addition to the cultivation of land plots of displaced nationals in Germe, Tsebera, Shehaten and Binbina on voluntary basis.

Mr. Abubeker further indicated that due to the good rainfall in the region, crops are in good condition, and called on farmers to step up endeavors until harvest of the crops.
