Mendefera Animal Feed Supply Association playing vital role in providing sufficient animal feed

At an assessment meeting conducted in Mendefera town, it was disclosed that the Association of Mendefera Animal Feed Supply is playing vital role in promoting the provision and quality of animal feed. The association carries out activities under the Southern region Community Association of Dairy Cattle Farmers. Mendefera, 8 September 2011 – At an assessment meeting conducted in Mendefera town, it was disclosed that the Association of Mendefera Animal Feed Supply is playing vital role in promoting the provision and quality of animal feed. The association carries out activities under the Southern region Community Association of Dairy Cattle Farmers.

The chairman of the regional Association, Mr. Niguse Haile, pointed out that the previous provision of animal feed by individual enterprises was not up to standard, besides being inadequate. The relentless endeavor of the association to ensure animal feed in a short period of time and raise milk products is registering impressive achievement.

Mr. Niguse further indicated that greenery animal feed has been planted over 23 hectares in Adi-Quala and Teraemni in collaboration with the Southern regional Administration.

The manager of Mendefera Animal Feed Processing Plant, Mr. Asefaw Zeru, on his part said that about 25 thousand quintals of animal feed have been distributed to associations.

The head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office of the in the region, Mr. Bahta Tedros, commended the achievement that Association’s have registered in a short period and urged them to further enhance endeavors.

The Association of Mendefera Animal Feed Supply was set up in 2010 and groups six sub-zones in the region.
