Various projects of constructing water supply facilities and construction of schools at a total cost of over 100 million Nakfa are under implementation in the Northern Red Sea region.
Massawa, 10 September 2011 – Various projects of constructing water supply facilities and construction of schools at a total cost of over 100 million Nakfa are under implementation in the Northern Red Sea region.
According to reports, the projects include construction of schools and additional classrooms, digging of wells and installation of pipelines among others, 60% of the work has already finalized.
In continuation of endeavors to expand to potable water supply, researches for digging wells in Bada, Nefasit, Emahmime, Gerger and Afandedo have been completed, in addition to the installation of pipelines in Afabet, Gahtelai, Bordeli, Bada and Gerle’ende.
The projects also include installation of pipelines in Embatkala and Gedged, as well as research for the construction of micro-dams in Nakfa, Afabet and Qilamet.
Similarly, water pumps in Arebai, Adi-Shuma, gadam-Halib, Besies and Tulik have been renovated in addition to the installation of pipelines and construction of water reservoirs in schools in She’ib, Foro and Zula.
Furthermore, secondary schools in Tsabra, Nakfa, Foro, Afabet, Ginda and Nefasit, as well as junior schools in Baqela, Endelal, Laba and Foro have been constructed.
Still more, elementary and computer training centers have been constructed in various administrative areas of the region, the reports added.
